I have been dealing with AT&T's office of the President. ( I emailed the CEO ) anyway...... she checked into things for me. When she called me back after last week-end she told me the Captivate was being pulled and they no longer had any new ones. She said no date on the INFUSE but I am hoping maybe this means it is coming soon. I am suppose to call her back when I find a phone I would like to replace my Captivate with. (I have had 7 refurbished captivates.)
I thought maybe she was just telling me it was pulled to get me to stop saying I wanted a new one instead of another refurbished one. I have been checking AT&T online and for the last 3 days they have been saying out of stock. So maybe just maybe?????? I for one am crossing my fingers for this. The CTIA is March 22-24th and my birthday is the 23rd. Happy Birthday to me?:D

I can verify I just got a brand spanking new captivate. It may be that AT&T is actually short on stock seeing how many AllTel customers are getting bumped over to AT&T and how many of us have been drooling for a new phone. (To note the only android phone we got was the HTC Hero CDMA last June).

Happy Birthday btw, but have you thought about getting the HTC Inspire instead? Just curious..

Thank You GQ. Yeah I have thought about the Inspire. My son picked it up on launch day. I am wanting to check them out side by side. I know "how can you even think about Samsung after all the trouble with the Captivate?" What can I say, just really like what I have read about the Infuse. Besides my son keeps telling me I should get the Inspire. Hate being told what I should do. :p :D

I had the inspire for almost a month but took it back. i loved sence and there wasnt really anything to complain about axcept battery. the reason i took it back was because the display doesnt even compare (IMO) to the super amoled screen of the captivate and super amoled plus should be even better. my next phone will be the infuse 4g when it is released.

Given all of the problems (especially the GPS & random shut downs) with the Captivate combined with the fact that the new Galaxy has been released by Samsung and AT&T now has other new Android offerings it doesn't surprise me they are not going to offer the Captivate.

Seems like it took Verizon offering the IPhone (and maybe the dismal success of Windows 7 phones) to wake AT&T up to the fact they needed a variety of state of the art Android phones.
