Anyone know how to configure Captivate pop3 eMail so it can hold unlimited eMail either in inbox or folders (just like BlackBerries let you do)? Should this work with BOTH pop3 and imap? Also, Captivate battery life seems very poor, even with power-optimized settings. Is Froyo available yet and does it improve battery performance? Any input is appreciated.

a buddy of mine who works corporate for att says its up to samsung to dish out froyo for us captivate users. i believe froyo will help battery life as well as make captivate 4-5x faster than iphone 4 with IOS 4. Froyo should hit att captivates by end of 2010.

1- Battery life will improve with time-not sure how that works, but the battery gets "seasoned" or something

2-I would avoid the Captivate email client. Use gmail only and have your pop3 email point to gmail, either thru gmail settings or forwarding of your pop3

interesting, thanks. do you know if there's a way to configure the g-mail pull down ONLY from the phone? this way, my pop3 work eMail can remain unchanged when using computers. really like the captivate, but it's not useful to me unless the eMail is working the way i need it to...

the battery comment is also interesting. have read several posts concurring. wonder why samsung doesn't proactively communicate on this -- it would probably prevent many returns...

^^I believe that if you set up your gmail to pull your pop3, you have an option to leave the pop3 on the server
