Going on a cross-country road trip and was wondering if there is a way to charge Acer in the car?

The charging cord is still the greatest annoyance with this tab. Otherwise I really enjoy it.

I saw one listed on Amazon.com last weekend. They also had one listed as being for the A500 that had a mini USB connecter. Stay away from that one. It would be nice if the tablet did charge through that port, but it doesn't.

I don't see how a $17 power inverter is a tad pricy. I do personally avoid certain items on eBay. I got my power inverter from radio shack. Yes more expensive but if there is something wrong I don't have to ship it back and wait.

I guess I meant it was a bit pricey for a car charger, but it does have other functions.

I have used this for over a year, and have never had a single problem with it

I've been using this car charger from Radio Shack for a few months and have no problems with it except that the tip does not have a groove to lock it in place so you just need to be carefull not to move the tablet around too much when charging.

Radio Shack Enercell 12 v DC 2amp with tip adapter to fit the Iconia. The tip adapter you need is a "G" tip and the part # 273-324 and the tip is postive +. The tip is slightly longer and does not have the groove that locks it into the charger slot but it works just fine. Comes in a flexable cord or really long cord. Enercell also have ac chargers using the same "G" tip adapter.

I found the best deal is a Powerline model that some Walmarts carry. My local one only had the 120v version.

It is a cigarette lighter plugin and it has about 7 tips with it. Puts out 2 or 2.5 amp, more than enough than the A500 needs. The bonus is, it is 4 voltages, 3, 5, 9, or 12V so you can use it for more than the A500. That way you can avoid having an inverter and with your house charger plugged into it...this is a clean device in comparison.

BTW, US company, their tech supported promptly answered a question about voltage range, and that it IS regulated power...think it also has a fuse.

It is the best way to power your A500 or A100 on the road as well as anything else needing 3-12VDC

yep works great. I got mine years ago for other use. It came from radio shack back then. More power than house charger that came with the system.:D
