I am a road warrior. I would love to add an extended battery (2150 mah would be great, 3800 mah would be better). I have the stock Samsung car dock, which doesn't look like it will work with the extended battery. I have a magnetic clasp, holster style case, and may keep it. But if anyone has found a combination of car dock/extended battery/case that will work, I would love to hear about it.

look at a company called grip it!
I use their cup holder mount and it holds devices as tiny as a flip phone to devices bigger then the nexus.
using a case-mate pop case, no problems with the cup holder mount and extended battery.

Thanks for the replies. I have found that the OEM 2100 mAh battery fits in all of the equipment I currently have (including holster, and OEM car dock, with which I am not overly impressed.) I'll continue to use this setup until prices come down on the 3800+ mAh batteries come down in price.

I use a car dock made by ProClip. There is a custom dock for the GN but I doubt it will work with a case and/or extended battery. My ProClip is semi-custom and adjustable to fit a variety of phones. Most universal docks I have tried usually have something annoying that would be eliminated with a custom dock, but the ProClip semi-custom dock fits as good as a true custom dock will. Because the dock is semi-custom I can adjust the size to fit with a case and extended battery. The only negative I have found is the price. Pro-Clip requires a vehicle specific mount that mates to the dock. The car mount runs approximately $30 and the semi-custom dock is another $30.

Was in the same position, after getting the 2100mAH battery and the Seidio Surface Extended case I had to ditch the Samsung mount. Now I use a Exomount clip which can grip the phone even when left in the case.

Yeah, it would be nice to have a real car dock, not just a mount. The dock has the power and audio (semi) permanently attached to it. The mount only has holes to attach your cables every time you mount the phone. The Samsung mount is terribly priced too @ $49. I've seen the dock in euro stores but not here yet.
Plus neither the Samsung dock nor the Samsung mount allow for extended batteries nor covers.
I have the Samsung dock for my Galaxy S II and I love it, but it accepts stock phone only (skins are ok though).
If anyone comes across a place to get the actual Nexus dock (not the mount) that is stateside, please let us know!

(I'm swapping my AT&T Galaxy S II for a Verizon Nexus within a couple weeks)

I just installed the same ProClip Mount. It' adjusts to fit perfectly to my GN with a 2100mah battery and Seidio Surface case. I'm prettyy sure it would accommodate the 3800 mah battery.

After the initial adjustment the GN with case glide smoothly into position and are held solidly by the mount. I'm loving the design on this thing. Beautifully engineered and designed to be easily installed in my Honda Odyssey, with detailed, accurate instructions, and without any tools. They provide the required spreaders to allow you to insert the mount. It sits rock solid, no vibration.

With this semi-custom dock, you do need to insert the charger into the bottom of the GN each time, but that's takes a couple of seconds. I decided to avoid the custom holder, which would have required me to remove and re install the case every time. It's worth every penny I paid for it.
