Using Seidio Active Extended Battery
This one is what I plan on getting...it's made to fit the Active Extended case.

Just thought I would add that I ordered and received one of these yesterday. I use both the extended and standard size batteries and have the Seidio Active case for both battery setups. Either Seidio Active case (regular or for extended battery) will fit this "extended" holder, which is really nice!

I have the slip grip vent car mount...the one thing I do not like about it, is that you have to keep the phone in a horizontal position....landscape mode. If you keep the phone in an upright position and go around a corner the piece the phone snaps into falls on the floor. When this first happened I contacted the seller, he said that was the way it was designed.

Everything I found was too expensive, so I made one out of scrapwood. My car has a blank switch spot that was designed for foglights I don't have, so I pulled that out and there was a 1" x 2" hole, perfect for my purposes.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present... The Redneck Phone Dock.

I've been really bad about following up on this, but if anyone is still interested in the Slip Grip, I have some pics and stuff.

The Slip Grip I got is the RAM-HOL version found here.

Please Select Your SlipGrip Holder

Then I bolted it to a Pro Clips base that I found here:

proclipusa.com

Yeah, it was a bit spendy to do it this way, but I ended up with EXACTLY what I wanted. And I didn't use the screws that came with the Slip Grip...I used regular machine screws with nylock nuts to attach the Slip Grip to the Pro Clip. And let me tell you, once you get that Pro Clip mounted it might very well take a bomb inside the car to get it out. Even when I removed the trim around my HVAC to replace a light bulb it was still in there pretty securely. Anyway, this is a great solution if you don't mind spending $50 or so.

And I love the redneck wood holder! Seriously...nicely done and creative! I thought about making my own out of aluminum, but then I got sidetracked with my amplifier mount. Anyway, here are some pics of the RAM-HOL extended slip Grip bolted to a Pro Clip mount.
