Are you sure you saw the car mount for the X and not for the Droid 1, And are you sure the box was in the right place?

i didn't see it, someone else had and they said it was $29.99. I was questioning them because the car mount bundle is $49.97 on vzw website

Has anyone with dock tried to use suction cup on smooth dash panels. If so what is the actual diameter of the suction cup I'd like to mount on dash instead of window and hate putting sticky crap on dash.

Don't really like the vent idea. I wanted to try mount it low on the smooth panel that surrounds the center console and shifter.

What about using a case with the car mount?

I just got the motorola brand car mount, and it has a spacer that can be removed to allow a case on your X. But, the cheap $10 basketweave silicone case I bought is too big. Is there a case out there that will work with the car mount?

Anyone else having issues with the sticky 3M adhesive coming off from the plastic plate that holds the suction cup? I didn't want to put the the mount on my windshield so I put it on a smooth part of my dash where it's not noticeable. I cleaned it with the alcohol wipe that was included, but after about 2 weeks of use, the adhesive isn't sticking anymore. I'm guessing its because of the weight of the phone and size. Anyone have any solutions to fix this problem? I'm thinking about buying some more 3M tape, but i'm thinking it'll happen all over again after some use.

ACtually I bought 3 home docks and 1 car dock. I love having one in each home and one in my office. They work great and are very convenient - so much better than just laying the Droid X on the table to charge it.

Well the sticky 3M tape came off. I need to find some to be able to mount. I currntly have it on the windshield, but i don't like how its visible to everyone.

And what do you speak into? The mic on the Droid? Seems like you'd be too far away with it dash mounted.

Wow! I would like to do that too, just expensive! I just bought one home dock. It is pretty nice, however not really necessary.

Can you use bluetooth while in the multimedia dock? I was on a bluetooth call and when I set the phone into the dock the call switched to speakerphone. The quality was excellent; I just wondered if I still had a bluetooth option docked.

Yeah, the holder connects to the mount with a ball / socket, so you can turn it sideways easily.
