Anyone using it yet?
Just got mine in....wow...what have I been missing.
My TomTom just got handed down to someone.
I wish I would us my case with it...AND...I don't think I'll be able to use my fat daddy 2750 batter with it.

However, I'll be plugging in the power cord anywho when driving, I know the GPS will suck that battery down.

I just wish it fit with the case. I have an el-cheapo fleabay case, but it's thin.
I can't see any case working with the dock.

I guess our options would be to either wait and get something more universal, but I do like the VZW dock...

Or just slip the case off before use. I'm sure a lot of those ebay cases made from the TPU or silicone are easy to slip on and off.

Do you guys have a pic of this dock? I can't find it on VZW website.

Nvm found it on Phandroid. I don't like windshield mounts.

You get a disc with it so you can mount it to your dash if you wish to do that instead. For the price you can't beat it though, $30 is fairly cheap considering this phone hasn't been out a week yet. I'm glad i bought it, will be using it for a good while to come now.

When I had one for my Droid X, I made a contraption out of two small lengths of PVC and two 45deg elbows. I glued the disc they include for dash mounting to the top of this, and mounted suction cup to that. The bottom fit snugly in my cup holder, and the shape of the contraption allowed me to swivel it closer or farther away for extra adjustability. I will have to take a picture and post it.

I have got to see a picture if this contraption you built.

I love the docks. I've used them with my original Droid and Droid X. I don't use a case so that isn't an issue for me, but I se how it could be for someone with a case. The Droid X dock had a liner that could be removed, which allowed the phone to be docked with a "skin" on it.

I use mine with the dash disc mount. It's pretty cool. Just know that it doesn't come with a power cord, so you will still need a car charger too. It fits perfect into the dock slot, so no case is going to work. Well, unless it's just a thin film, then maybe. While I like it, there is nothing really special about it. If you really need something you can use with a case then just get a universal one that accepts different sizes. The only flaw with that is that right now My car charger is still plugged into the mount, so I can just stick my phone in and I'm done. With a large universal you will have to put it in and then hook up the cord each time. Not horrible, but it is one more step. I'd probably get this one and take my case off each time, but I roll naked anyway, so no need to worry about that.

How sticky is that disc that you need to put on your dash? I haven't put mine on yet and i'm sorta hesitant to put it on considering i'm thinking about maybe upgrading to a newer car here soon.

Can anyone tell me if the HTC car dock comes with any cables?
I had one for the Motorola Atrix and it came with a USB cable that would plug into the back of the dock and the other end had a USB for charging and a headphone jack that you could plug into your aux input for audio out.

I wouldn't do it. It's VERY difficult to remove if it's the 3M adhesive

The official one that you get from verizon does not include a power cable with it. As for the aux audio cable, i don't believe this one is capable of doing that.

The dash disc sounds great but unfortunately for me my dash has all matte, textured or curved. Not ideal for sticky mounts which I have tried. Hot CA summers make it fall off.My cup holder is right behind the shifter, so this option is still not going to work for me. I found a lighter mount that charges also. Getting that.

Thanks for your reply.

So it sounds like if you want audio out over your speakers you would need to plug into the headphone jack anyway?
I was hoping it would have a USB and audio jack so you wouldn't have to keep plugging in a cable every time.

Well, I can't find my contraption, so I made a VERY rough representation. I swear my photoshop skills are better than this!!

The two elbows are glued to a piece of PVC pipe JUST big enough to fit snug, with very little in between. The top elbow I put on a belt sander to make the ring of the pipe completely level and flat, then glued the disk on. You can then sand it with a high grit paper to remove the sheen and paint it. Measure the bottom of your cupholder. I used 2.5" pipe IIRC.

Used it on the dash of my LEXUS, I wanted to move it to the SUV it came off just used GOO GONE on the dash, as good as new. This is the one I used for my Moto X, I'm sure its the set up.
