Car Docks and Cases

Ok. So I drive for a living... I need a case as I want to protect this wonderful phone and I also need a car mount as well... I'm 100% set on a mount with a built in charge port like Verizons mount (so I don't have to click it in the dock and plug it in after)

Is there any way of accomplishing this? Finding a mount that can be fit with a case as well? No extended battery, only normal battery.
The mount at Verizon is Verizons mount. Does HTC make their own mount, as does Motorola?

you can get a universal car mount. some resize with sliders. my friend has his hero while in case. wirefly an htcpedia have a good selection of universal ones

You'll probably have to wait for something like this from Seidio:

They don't have any charging car mounts listed yet, but they seem to be the only brand making those: seidioonline.com

It seems like with the charging car mounts (and docks), you always have to make a decision between using a case or not...or at least picking one that is easy to get on/off. But Seidio usually makes docks/mounts that work with their cases at least.

I just picked up the one offered in verizon stores (igrip cradle). It feels pretty sturdy (didnt install it yet in case i decide to return it). One thing tho, since i never had a car mount, the clip or whatever you want to call it that holds the phone in place is made of plastic and touches the screen when it's in the lock position holding the phone in place, does anybody have this mount unit and think it might scratch the screen (i dont use a screen protector)?
Other than that it seems like a pretty good dock, charger gets plugged into the back, can mount either on the dash or the windshield, plastic parts feel pretty stable, etc

Hmmm.. Just took a look at mine and the locking piece does not touch the screen. Comes close but only extends to the black border. I do use screen protectors so I'm not overly concerned.

Verizon thin silicon case will not work with Verizon Car Mount. The TB fits in very tight so I don't think any case will fit.

I don't get what is going on here...

Does VZW not think we will use a case if we buy the car dock? Or do they think we are going to remove the case everytime we want to use the car dock?

What are people doing that have the VZW car dock? Not using a case?

Most companies dont think about cases when they sell docks and mounts. It's like a pick and choose.
