So I have a galaxy s2 4g sph-d710. I have been having a host of problems with it. And, honestly, I simply don't want to wait the 2 weeks to send my phone in to samsung and have it fixed. I was hoping to find something I could do myself. Just wanted to make sending it off as a last resort.

1. My phone will enter "car mode" on its own, whether I am on it or not. And it will switch on and off rapidly about 10 times before it stops. If I'm on it, it closes whatever app is up, the screen will go blank and come back up. If I'm playing a game, it takes me back to the load screen. And sometimes when it happens, it's not car mode. It'll bring up the alarm clock. And if it takes me back to my home screen, the orientation of my screen changes. like the home screen auto rotates while it's glitching.

2. When I want to charge the phone, I have to turn it off, plug in the charger, and turn it on again before it recognizes the charger is connected. And when I unplug it, I get: "Voltage too high charging paused." And it still shows the little lightning bolt on the battery icon and "Charging: x%" on the lock screen. I read, to clean the micro usb. I did that and it just got rid of the voltage message.

3. The phone will not turn off. If I hit "Power off phone" it'll just restart. The same thing happens when I remove the battery, when I put it back in it automatically boots up.

There were some other issues that i was able to work out by reading forums. But these are the ones that remain. I have found similar topics, but none quite to this extent. I hope someone can help with this. I want my phone back! lol

I'd look at the apps you have installed. Were there any you installed not long before these problems started? If so, uninstall them and see what happens. Or, did you recently install an OS upgrade?

The first thing a carrier will tell you to do if you call them is to do a factory reset, so if removing apps doesn't fix it, I'd try that next. Back up whatever data you can, first, of course.
