Has anyone been able to figure out how to enable car mode in the S6? The manual doesn't even refer to it, and Samsung themselves has been absolutely no help.

Thanks!

If it's like on Note 4 and S5, just pull down the status bar into full mode and you will see the wheel car icon.
Btw I hope they evolved the app to match HTC's one with music by artist,folder,genre...instead of only google voice

It does not look like the S6 has Car Mode or Driving mode. The application is in the list of apps but for some reason it is not enabled. I tried to make a shortcut to the app to see if it was just hidden but was unable to make a shortcut to it.

I think this might be because Samsung cut 40% of the bloat that originally comes with the phone. Go into the Galaxy App store and look for Car Mode. There's an app made by Samsung for it. I haven't used it so I don't know how well it works, but it is definitely there.

What was confusing is that in the list of apps already installed on the phone (in the Applications Manager) there was an entry labeled carmodestub. I was unable to find out what that was. After contacting Samsung they said the app Car Mode was not included in the software.

Like MarqBland, I was able to find the app "Car Mode" in the Samsung store, and it is indeed the same app that came with the S5. I loaded it and it works identically. I basically have about a 90% satisfaction rate with that. Many of the other car mode apps in the Google App Store cut off before you have finished dictating your full text message. I have never had that problem with the Samsung app. So I am back to being a happy camper.

Thanks to all those that responded.

It does have it. I believe it's one of the apps you can download from the Galaxy Apps store. I know its in the same app store where you download Kids Mode

Just saw that you figured it out

As the screen is Amoled and it's risky to let the app enabling the screen all the time of road (screen burnins), can you make it black screen till you touch to wake?
Or the screen is or ON all the time or completely OFF?

I use Waze and Google navigation all the time and have never had a burnin on any of my phones.

These are navigation apps meaning there are no static graphics on the screen, while with Car app in music section you have static graphics

There's also a really nice new app I've started using because all of the older well known ones haven't figured out we're not on gingerbread anymore. It's called Car Dashdroid

Can you resume the screen by tapping it?

Did a search and didn't see it

If you have an AT&T version you can't access car mode from the store. I called samsung and was told the feature is not available for the AT&T variant. If someone could post the apk that would be great.

Hi, it's definitely on the S6. I've had my phone for less than a week and been very frustrated with driving mode. I'm sitting at my desk, phone completely stationary, and driving mode will turn on. I've switched my default messaging app from Verizon to Samsung but can't figure out how to turn it off. It still goes on. Anyone have any luck disabling it?

Bear with me.... first time posting on this message board, but same thing has been happening to me. Bought the phone last weekend, and yesterday it started acting up with this "drive mode has been turned on". If I catch it quick enough, I can click in the corner "I am not driving" The worst part is that I live in NYC and don't even have a car. Just happens randomly, sometimes multiple times in an hour. Think I finally solved it though.

The issue is not directly with the S6, for me it's with the message app I chose to use. I also have Verizon and during set up it recommended using a text message app called message+. This is the app that is going into "driving mode" (which is apparently different than "car mode" which was featured on earlier Samsungs). My issue is that every time this message+ app connected to anything with Bluetooth, it activated "driving mode". So in my case, every time it recognized my FitBit, driving mode was turned on.

Pretty simple to turn off. Go into Message+ app
Top left corner pull down menu, go to settings
Click Driving Mode
Deselect any devices that are not your car.
Done.

Been a few hours now and no issues with driving mode turning on. Hope it helped..... sorry if it was a little long winded.
