Car Mode

Re: carprice.se

My Audi Car brakes vibrate, squeal, grab. Why?

Has anyone been able to figure out how to enable car mode in the S6? The manual doesn't even refer to it, and Samsung themselves has been absolutely no help.

Thanks!

Hey there go to your messaging app. Go to Advanced》Settings》Driving Mode.

Hope this helps.

Go into yr apps, tap on "Galaxy Apps " hit search and type " car mode for galaxy" and presto there it is.

I don't normally post on these things, but since this seems to have escaped the internet world's greater knowledge and took me forever to figure out, here I am, I did it all for you my fellow Samsung S6 user.

Ok, let me lay this out. First "Messages +" is a Verizon app and if you have Verizon, hit to the top left "3 little bars", go to settings, go to drive mode and configure, it's that simple; it has worked for my friends. If you're like me and have AT&T then you use "Messages" and I have only found one way to stop the automatic "I'm driving" message. Go to your home page, swipe down from the top, you will see the Bluetooth indicator, hold it down to go to your Bluetooth settings, there you will see "My Car" hit the cog wheel to the right and open "My Car" settings. In settings you will see Messages at the bottom, turn this off so your car can't access your messages. The "I'm driving" auto reply will never happen again. I don't think this completely turns off drive mode, but it does get rid of the annoying message everytime someone texts you while driving.

I hope this bring you some relief!!!

There's also a really nice new app I've started using because all of the older well known ones haven't figured out we're not on gingerbread anymore. It's called Car Dashdroid

Got it, it destroys my battery. Phone gets super hot, and even plugged in it drains.

Having set up car mode and chosen to use Google Maps for navigation rather than the default "Here", I'm struggling to change the default music app from Samsung Music to Google Play Music.

Can't see any way of doing this is settings. Any ideas?

I'd also like to add other apps to car mode (like BeyondPod and Tunein) but can't see how.

Ok, I got the gs6 on release day and one of he first things I did was to download the car mode app because I used that feature all the time with my gs4. After a couple of days I uninstalled it, mainly because of the scree auto-brightness bug. I just tried to check if there had been an update to the app and see if it had been fixed and the app is no longer in the Galaxy app store.

I have a sprint gs6 if that makes a difference, but there is no sign of the app in he store for me anymore.

Re: Car Mode app is "Voice Text"

I have the AT&T Galaxy S6 Active and the version of car/driving mode that I used constantly on my S4 isn't available through the Galaxy App store like many post say it is. Apparently that has to do with AT&T. But, you CAN find it on the Android store as "Voice Text". This app has a red circular icon with a microphone and acts just like the older driving mode. I'm very happy to have it back!

When you are in your text messages go to the menu (the three bars on the top left), then Settings, then Driving Mode. You then check the paired Blue Tooth Devices you want to go into car mode (or uncheck them if you want them to not go into car mode).

The icon on the main screen is great, but it is a temporary tool for quickly turning off and on. If you do as described above, your main settings will change.

Just bought the beautiful note 5. Can't believe it either, NO CAR MODE. Come on Samsung. It's vital....please

Awesome! Thank you @FunFun Fedigan for finding this. It was driving me crazy. I just got the Gear S2 and it needs to use another messaging app from Samsung but the 'drive mode' got kicked off every 4-5 minutes. Phew. THANK YOU!!

Pretty simple to turn off. Go into Message+ app
Top left corner pull down menu, go to settings
Click Driving Mode
Deselect any devices that are not your car.
Done.

Download and install Carmode App in your S6. Just click the icon. The screen turns to a black background with white fonts. Click Agree and you are good to go.

Well, I know Car Mode. Had it on my Galaxy Note 2. But it's NOT INSTALLED on my Galaxy S6. Regardless of that, I get "Unfortunately, Car Mode had stopped" several times a day, seemingly uncorrelated with driving or Bluetooth usage.
