Car Mounts

It seems those universal-type holders are a dime a dozen... Amazon is flooded with them. My whole purpose for getting the dock was specifically for the docking and charging features, so a mount that's just a little grabber on a stick isn't very interesting. To each his own, though... If that's all you're looking for, wait till the AC store has a sale and buy something similar from there.

Well it's not just a universal clamp. If you look at the photos you will see it has an integrated audio out, but you have to plug the USB connector in rather than having a slide like the Infuse 4G dock.

I just recently pick up the Iottie Easy Flex Mount. It fits perfectly into the slot above my head unit. It is small enough not to be in the way or ugly. It rotates perfectly and has pads on the sides to as not scratch the phone. Its a really tight fit and I've test it the past week over some bad roads here in my area.

Total looks like they're selling the infuse dock... even using some of the exact same images (Google searched them).

Good point as well. I'd stay away from it.

But if you order it, let us know when it arrives if it comes in an Infuse box or something else fishy (like not in a box or in a box with "Galaxy s3" written in crayon on it).

I personally would like an actual S3 dock. The infuse dock works well, but it snaps in pretty tight and you can tell that the corners aren't designed with the S3 in mind, since they're more square than round like the S3 is. Also, the clip at the end that I assume is supposed to release the phone serves no purpose with the S3.
I would love to see a comparable S3 dock as well. I still find it hard to believe that Samsung hasn't come out with one yet. I guess I'm still spoiled by Motorola. When it came to accessories everything was there on the phone's release day.

Yeah, after looking at it a little closer i'm going to hold off and not order it. Would really like to see a Samsung OEM Car Charging Dock for the S3.

Thanks everyone

I miss the Moto car dock, too (but, I don't miss my old Moto Atrix phone!). I ended up with an iBolt ProDock Alumina because I needed a dock to fit my Proclip ball mount. The SGS3 just fits with it's Amzer Shellster case. I listen to music/podcasts and phone calls using bluetooth with my Ford Sync. Yes - it's sort of a nuisance to connect the USB power cord when needed. But, I'll live with it.

Just ordered 2 of the mountek ngroove mounts. Will report back.

was curious about that one as well.

But I went with the Infuse dock, and couldn't be happier so far. Let us know what you find out!

In case anyone missed it, this was on the front page a few days back. You can convert your Droid X car dock (assuming you came from an X) to fit the GS3. I did it last night, and it works fairly well. The GS3 is still just a hair too big, but the padded top clip seems to hold it in well enough. My other thought was to tether my X to my S3 via wifi and see if location services worked well enough to use the X as a "standalone" GPS.

I too am interested in this. The description on the page answered my concern over the drive trying to pull it in but I wonder how it stands up over uneven roads. Since I never used my CD player this may be a better option than my Arkon mount.

The Infuse dock is working fine for me. I didn't bother drilling holes since I'm using a bluetooth earpiece. Surprised it didn't come with a charger though like my S2 dock did. That might partially explain the low cost.

So it is nice and secure in there? I need to buy something, and it seems like I could have issues with any future case or extended battery if I buy the Samsung mount. I guess I am not sure what I would miss out on by not going with the OEM product, besides the idea that it should fit "perfect".

Engadget had an article and video talking about a new dock that was being made by TomTom...has tons of features and ability to charge an S3, Bluetooth etc...here is a link to the video you can cut to the 1:10 mark to see the s3

Yeah, I read about this article earlier today on Engadget but i don't know about spending $125 for a car mount. I might hold off for an official, OEM car mount from Samsung made specifically for the Galaxy S III.

Though expensive it is a quality option for those who have cases (like me) because its adjustable, and has several other features, which is why i think i could spend that much
