Car mounts

I just looked up the ProClip and that looks pretty nice. I think I want to stay away from the suction cup mounts because if they come loose, I am afraid this phone will crack. The CD mounts are nice but in one of our cars it really interferes with some buttons and the screen of the stereo so it's not the best for that car. I suppose a vent mount would be ok but this ProClip seems like it would work very well. I see the mounts they sell for the S7E but how do you guys put the iOttie or the Samsung Wireless holder like some of you mentioned? How do you attach it? Some kind of universal mount for it would be nice so my wife could use it for her iphone as well.

If you get the ball mount, it's pretty universal and you can attach many other cradles that snap onto a ball mount. It's sold separately from proclip, but my first cradle from proclip included it (for my original Galaxy Nexus), then I just swapped out other cradles onto the ball mount as I changed phones.

I have a 2015 Chrysler 300c. On the dash below the vent, I have the ProClip Angled Mount:

that has a pic of it mounted to a car, that goes to the Chrysler specific one, but you can find whatever model car you have, quick 2 minute install for me. I used a proclip on a different car, and when I removed it, no marks were left

so the Proclip mounts to the car, the ball mount screws into the plate of the Proclip:

I like how that does not block the vent. I looked for my car and it almost completely blocks a vent.

I did not like the idea of pushing a button to lock or unlock the phone into the holder. I made my own drop in holder using thin plexiglass. I took apart a Tylt wireless charger and put the electronics behind the holder. I mounted it using a suction mount on my dash. Now I just drop the phone i and it chargers and switches to drive mode. Here's a picture.

Having tried several vent holders and find them literally unusable, I came across this:

I doubted that the magnet would hold, but the phone proved to be rock solid. It doesn't wobble all over the dash. The mount was very carefully, professionally packaged, and the company, believe it or not, has a 24/7 toll free support. I bought mine on eBay, but it's available on Amazon as well. I'm not associated with the manufacturer in any way, just impressed with the product.

Got one of those and found the piece you insert into the car vent somewhat difficult to install.
Once inside, it unfortunately did NOT remain in place as the weight of the phone either closed my vents, or it swayed left or right upon taking turns. I totally love the concept but would love something a bit more sturdy! Like something which fits inside the cigarette lighter hole and stays in there like a plug! - No clue what sort of safety issues may be involved, but you know what I mean. Thanks Simon!

I hard wired the official wireless charging holder into my ignition. Very handy for navigating without killing your battery.
