By the way, tests have been showing that:
The original OV does not have Carrier IQ, no idea on newer models.

I just received a new OV that I ordered from VM's cyber monday special as a gift for my sister-in-law. I'm going to activate it, root it, and install a custom ROM built for her tomorrow. I'll let you know the version build date of the stock OS it shipped with, and the CIQ status once I open it up.
