Carrier Note 8 VS. Uocked Note 8

I pre-ordered a Note 8 through a carrier (T-mobile if it matters) but am not sure what the pros and cons are in going with the unlocked version instead. The price is the same so from that perspective, it's a wash. I've heard updates from Samsung are slower (not sure how much slower or if it's true) but the bloatware should be less I would think. Any context would be appreciated.

In Canada, specifically with Rogers, if you want to use their WiFi Calling or VoLTE you need to buy the device from them.

Typically I believe updates will be quicker from Samsung than from the carriers.
