Carriers selling our location

Has anyone looked at the root site of "motherboard.vice.com" that produced this conspiracy article? Go look at https://www.vice.com/en_us and make your own judgement as to reliability.

Not sure what that has to do with anything I said. I was simply saying you keep commenting as if the issue is ad targeting and that isn't the issue at all.

The carriers admitted they are going to stop so I'd say it's pretty trustworthy.. otherwise what would they have to stop?

I hope carrier put end to this maybe Google will help in this also , you let them keep going on with this who knows what's next gotta stop them before they think other things is ok to do .

Yeah I hope it's done for good. The T-Mobile CEO said in that tweet it should all be done in March. Hopefully this time it is. For all carriers (and our) sake.

I logically believe that a carrier would only sell positional data for advertising purposes. The sensational article claims "selling to bounty hunters" for nefarious purposes with anecdotal evidence. If the carriers really do stop selling data then it's all a moot point.

Well now it is.. but they would still be doing it like they have been if they didn't get caught with their pants down. Now they're all saving face.

Carriers were selling it to these guys for ads but then not looking at what they do with it.. hence the issue. It was going to people doing very nefarious things with it.
