Case for iGrip PerfektFit Charging Dock

I got the following car mount iGrip PerfektFit Charging Dock (http://www.htcdepot.com/igrip-perfektfit-charging-dock/3A78A8613.htm) does anyone have this and a case for the phone that works well together?

I just bought one at Sprint a couple hours ago. While there I tried an Otterbox Commuter to see if it would fit and it does, sort of. Obviously you have to take the spacer/filler out and it appears the space from the back to the power plug is good but the shape of the case makes it a little tricky to seat, but it does work. It just isn't 100% 1 hand job which is why I decided not to get the commuter.

We also tried one of the other cases Sprint sells, it was a red hard shell with a soft bottom that slips on, and while it was plenty thin, it was just long enough that it was too long for the dock.

The Commuter would obviously need the USB cover cut off, and with a little work, it would probably work fine. But it will need a little tweaking.

I purchased the I grip dock today and the red hard shell case from bg. It works a tight fit but works fine

I just picked up the iGrip from Sprint and a hard shell case from BB. Took the sleeve out of the iGrip and it works great!

I was thinking about doing the igrip perfektkit/otterbox combo. I heard the otterbox is supposed to be one of the better cases.

The only problem I see with this combo is the usb port, which has already been mentioned. I think it would be inconvenient to have to take the case off every time I want to use the dock. To me this would mean pretty much every day as I use my phone as a replacement for my cd/radio player in my car.

Things is though, I'm the sort of person who drops their phone fairly often, so I would like to get the otterbox.

OP, does the igrip automatically go into htc car mode when you dock it? Can you exit that and say, open the music app or Pandora or something like that?

EDIT: I just thought, I briefly used an evo 4g and really liked the kickstand. Anyone know of a good case that might have a stand maybe one more similar to the tbolt stand as it does both portrait and landscape. And one that would fit in the igrip?

Sprint has the bg in purple that has a stand and I use it with the dock and it works great. HTC is coming out with a case with a kick stand sometime in July

That is what I have been wanting to hear. Thank you for checking this out. I feel better knowing that I can just sit it in the dock...no fuss.

No. The Commuter (see my post above) can with the iGrip insert pulled out and some tweaking, but the Defender is bigger so, no go.

Have been getting awesome reviews from lots of people. I am going to get one when they start shipping again (they had to do a slight revision to correct the camera cutouts because they were about 1mm off). There is a guy on XDA who either owns this company or works for them and is very helpful... forget his name but search around on their accessories forum and you can definitely talk w/ him. These are cheap and effective.

I tried the active case and it did not fit i returned it for the platinum and it is a perfect fit.
