Case or Naked?

I have a CoverOn clear slim TPU case for my Pixel 6 from Amazon for $8 (same or similar to the Spigen slim case I tried), and with the case on, it happens to fit perfectly into my holster made for my Motorola Moto G Stylus 2020. Can carry on my belt or set on a table as the belt clip extends out as a stand, and when I fly I can hook the belt clip on the seatback in front of me to watch movies on the phone. When the phone faces towards you, the phone slides in till the camera bump stops it, still secure enough when on a desktop or seatback on a plane. When the phone faces towards the holster, the entire phone slides all the way into the holster as if it were made for the Pixel 6. I had bought a holster and case combo specifically made for the Pixel 6 with the intent of using just holster and putting the phone with CoverOn case inside it, but the fit was way too tight, and I didn't like the plastic case that came with the holster as it's a snap-on, difficult to remove without scratching the phone. So I returned the holster and case.

Here is my case, I'm really liking it.

You dont have an option to use it without a case with this device. Its slippery as fish & f***. Google better make devices with better ergonomics. Using a phone with a case can get really boring especially for users who dont use cases. I had iPhone X, used it for 3 years without a screen protector and case, only the back was slightly cracked but thats about it, the screen was mint right till the day I gave it to someone special. I am using a Spigen transparent case on my Pixel 6 Pro but no screen protector. I fell in front of my house the other day, as the phone was in my back pocket its screen got scratched, but I am not putting on a screen protector.

They are all glass front and back phones. If you drop them they crack, yes even iphones as I have known plenty of people carrying an iPhone with either the front or back glass cracked. Ergonomics has nothing to do with protecting the phone from drops. Most people drop their phones a lot. I do not but still do use a case, sometimes I use just a skin but mostly a case.

Has zero to do with ergonomics

Nah man..I don't use a case and my 6pro is fine. I haven't dropped it either. I'll agree it's a slippery phone, but I hate cases and never use one. Same with screen protectors.

Dbrand Grippy Case Black. I love it. I have tried a few. Too slippery for me not to use a case.

Pretty much any "premium" phone these days is slippery, because companies believe "premium" means glass or aluminum. In my opinion, going without a case is implicit acceptance of the risk of damage, and therefore the cost of repair or replacement.

I tried his approach and ended up with a hairline crack on the back of my Note 9, simply from placing it (gently) into my car's cupholder. Cracks and scratches are inevitable unless you spend every interaction handling your phone like a baby, versus handling it like a tool. At the end of the day, I'll throw a case $10 on my $1000 device simply because minor scuffs and scratches bother me.

I wish they made this for more phones. I had one in my iphone 12 pro ( before I sold it because it's a boring phone), and combined with the aluminum bumper, it was perfect. It kept the aesthetics of a naked phone, while providing protection from every day gentle activities. Granted, it won't guard from falls and drops, but that's the risk, right? All I really want is protection from everyday contact with surfaces.

I'd really like a case like this, too. I love slim cases.

That's the thing, it's not even a case...it's just a back panel of glass, kinda like a screen protector for the back of your phone.

I do like slim cases too though =)

I'd enjoy that too! The slimmer, the better!

I always use cases with these modern glass phones... I like knowing I have a firm grip on the phone, vs being painfully aware the phone is always trying it's best to fall to it's death when it's caseless

As Lady Gaga would say "they're made that way" ;)

The Nexus 5 was the last phone I used without a case. Using the leather case on my Pixel 6 Pro and my wife uses a folio case on her Pixel 6 as she keeps it in her pocketbook where all sorts of things come in contact with it.

Just yesterday I was out hiking and one of the women I met at the summit had JUST dropped her phone and cracked the back of it. It happens when least expected and rough, irregular rocky summits provide just the opportunity.

I'd imagine that if you knew you'd be hiking, you'd have the foresight to case it up. I mean, I get "ballsy" when I'm at home or at work, but suit up the moment I step out the door on my way to the mountains, Mordor or any other irregularly-terrained land.

I love your Lady Gaga lyrics reference, and I totally agree with you! Better to be safe with glass phones these days!
