Anyone have preferences/suggestions for good cases? What about screen protectors? Does it need a screen protector? Is it Gorilla Glass?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I bought the Vipertek leather case folio off amazon. It has a built is multi-position stand. It is custom sized for the A500 and it works great.

To my knowledge the screen is not gorilla glass. I would recommend some kind of screen protector because the glass is a fingerprint magnet. An anti-glare or matte one would be a good idea if you are going to be out and about.

good stuff...thanks man!

I recommend the invisible shield screen protectors. I use them on my phones and love them. We have a store demo for the iPad 2 and I put one on that. They can look foggy for a day or two until the solution dries up.

I bought the Targus case when I bought my A500 in July. It works great for standing the tablet in three different landscape positions. However, it also adds significantly to the weight and bulk. It does help protect the screen when closed, and could surely help protect from damage in event of a drop. Last week I bought the Acer portfolio cover. It is much lighter, but a tradeoff is it isn't as easy to stand up as the Targus case. It also blocks the microphone, but that can easily be rectified by simply punching a hole in that location (and applying other velcro tabs in another location to keep the cover closed).

I bought a wet application screen protector when I bought the tablet, but got fingerprints all over it and ended up ruining it when trying to remove and reapply. Since then I discovered a much cheaper version on Amazon.com that is easy to apply and works well. The brand name is Posrus. Shipping is very quick. I also installed one on my wife's Toshiba Thrive. (Both bought separately with shipping costs for each were still less than the one I originally bought at Best Buy and ruined because of how difficult it was to apply.)

i got the Acer case from wal mart...not very thick but keeps it from getting scratched and its a multi position case...as for screen protector I dont have one. I think its a waste of money cuz its not a phone your sticking in your pocket getting scratched by car keys or anything like that.

Vipertek is the way to go, at $20 for a hight quality leather case, that fits nice and snug and adds protection to your tablet you can't go wrong. I for the screen protector is used HALO which comes in a very convenient 3 pack for $8.00 or $9.00 dollars in I've believe. Both items from Amazon.com.

According to the Corning Glass web site (see link below) the screens are Gorilla Glass. But I use the Zagg screen protector with mine and have a rooCase portfolio case to carry it around.

CORNING? GORILLA? GLASS | ACER

I bought at staples an Acer protective cover and a belkin screen protector with glare shield both of which I'm not super happy with. I mean the cover fits well but its family cheap and strectchs out. The screen protector is very smooth, fits perfectly and doesn`t scratch but i hate the sparkly appearance to my screen. Personally I wouldn't waste the money on either. I looked at best buy for a different screen protector gut all they carry is the invisi shield line and those feel rubbery and your fingers kinda drag on it.
