Case - Workout Armband for EVO

I have an armband that sort of fits my Evo, but I'm afraid to use it because when I used it with my ipod nano, when I would get sweaty the plastic pouch would get condensation in it. Anyone else have this problem?

As of now, I've just been holding my Evo, but I'd really like to not have to do that anymore.

It would fly out of my hand if I tried to hold the phone while jogging. I cannot do that. I just ordered the SPIbelt that is 'water resistant'. I'll update the thread after I receive it. $21 shipped. It seems the best option for me and EVO on the asphalt together. I hope it works....I am really excited to use CardioTrainer. Is this the best jogging program?

I don't recommend buying this. It doesn't really fit the Evo and even if you do manage to get the Evo inside, the plastic window will stick to your screen protector (if you have one).

I'm referring to: Armband For HTC HD2, EVO 4G - HTC EVO 4G

I just bought one of those too and got it in yesterday and am very disappointed. I had to cut it just to get the evo to fit and it still does not fit correctly. And when I take it out there is a weird sticky residue on it. The support is pretty much trying to tell me it is my fault.... I am not happy cellphoneshop.net = a no go for me for now on.

Water Sport Arm Band

I am not a sports arm band type of guy until I got this massive EVO ... Originally I thought I ran across this armband in this thread but obviously I didn't so I thought I would pass this on ... When I first saw this I wondered why the hell would someone want to go swimming and submerge their device but I warmed up to it quckly once I saw the pics ... Anyway here ya go .

NOTE* The original poster ( I forget where I saw it ) said that it works perfect with his EVO.

Goodness $80. Sheesh.

Jogging with the EVO shouldn't be this hard......or Expensive! I am not willing to drop $80 for that armband but thanks for the suggestion. I'm hoping to get my SPIbelt this week. I'll update the thread after I give it a whirl.

I used an old tunebelt arm band that's iphone sized, but stretches just enought to fit the evo. But jogging with the evo is heavy so I'm sticking to my shuffle. Especially to avoid any freak accidents.

I second this. I bought this and was very disappointed. They obviously just added "EVO" to the description without actually testing it.

It doesn't fit the Evo with the cutout... so I thought I could just use scissors to increase the slit length, but then I got that sticky stuff all over the sides of my phone.

I received the water resistant SPIbelt today. The EVO fits snugly but secure and can be zipped with my headphones cord sticking out of the zipper when zipped. This was cheap and is well made. I wore it around the house and there is zero bounce...ya don't even know its there. I'll go running either tonight or tomorrow and update once again. So far....I likey likey.

My gf's sister uses her iPod Touch armband for her Evo. It seems to fit pretty good. I just can't remember what brand the case is.

I used the SPIbelt today

I've tried to insert the photo link from flikr...but can't do it....I'd be happy to try again if someone wants to lead this old horse to water :)

I used the SPIbelt this morning.

Pros: NO BOUNCE....and I didn't even know it was there! I wore it around my waist facing front. I've never enjoyed the arm band thing...this was a great alternative. I bought the water resistant SPIbelt....no sweat infiltration whatsoever. I zip up the pouch with my headphone wire sticking out the zipper...listened to NPR on FM radio for my run. I ran in a HEAVILY treed old neighborhood and got perfect GPS the whole time using Cardio Trainer. It was a joy.

Cons: The pouch is JUST big enough to fit the EVO with my Seidio Innocase II on it. It does require a bit of wrestling to get it in and zipped...mostly because on my SPIbelt (the waterproof one) the interior of the pouch has a rubbery plastic like coating. No big deal...but a bit more of a hassle than I'd like. I have a feeling that the phone would fit nicely and slide in without the innocase on it...I might try it next time. I have never really messed with my radio or iPod while running...I set it and forget it for the length of my run. With this phone and belt combo...you really don't have a choice in that matter. It would be too difficult to remove the phone and stop/change/or reset anything while walking/jogging....no biggie for me.

This is really a great option for runners who want to use the EVO for music and/or GPS tracking systems. At $20 shipped...can't be beat.

Excellent, thank you for posting your results with the SPI belt. The biggest drawback that I see is having to take the Evo out of the pouch while running in order to do something with it. That said, I don't foresee that happening too often so it shouldn't be an issue.
2 questions about the SPI belt:
Do you think the non-waterproof version might still do a reasonable job of keeping sweat out? I do sweat a lot, but generally not around my waist. :) More around the head/neck/chest area.
Secondly, does it make you look like a tool? Truthfully I don't care that much what I look like when I"m running (my bluetooth headset probably makes me look like a dork already), but I'd like to not add additional paraphernalia that will increase that chance. -especially something that might be construed as a fanny-pack.

Thanks again!

Ok...here is some more information

I wouldn't be caught dead (anymore) with a fanny pack...and I'm not "terribly" vain :p This does strap around your waist and/or chest...but it is just a little zipper pocket. I had it around my waist and my workout shirt covered the whole thing up..didn't even pooch out....it sits flush with your body. You could also wear this around your chest...and I don't think this is dorky at all. Actually...I think this thing is kind of cool!?!

OK...I thought about this today and decided to call SPIbelt...I talked to a nice guy named "Kevin". I told him that it was a bit difficult and tight to get the EVO in the pocket. He said that they make the waterproof one the same as the regular SPIbelt...but the material is FAR less stretchy. He said the regular SPIbelt would accomodate 3 iPhones +keys etc. My waterproof one is a real hassle just to get the EVO in easily. NOW THE GOOD NEWS....they have been having meetings about this very issue and have created a new waterproof SPIbelt with a slightly larger pocket. Also...the new material is more of a divers bodysuit material...and is slightly stretchy (the current material feels like the shell of your gortex ski coat complete with slightly rubberized interior). He was VERY kind...and is going to send me one of these new water resistant belts..and I am going to return the other belt.

Hope this helps....I am psyched to finally find an easy and cool way to carry this big heavy phone while runnig.

I use an Amphipod pouch in a fuel belt. Works great, running average of 8 miles every morning listening to bbc and espn Live. Right now going out the door for 15 miles with my Evo.

I just received the two of these I ordered on Ebay and took one for a 3 mile run (attached to my fuel belt) and LOVED it. Not sure how I will put the second to use, but at $9.94 (shipped) for two, I feel like I struck gold with this thing. No bounce, totally easy and secure (I put it in naked, not in another case), and I just set my audio and run tracker and went!

Of course, if you don't want it for running, biking, or walking and/or don't already have a fuel (or other) belt to slide it onto, it's probably not gong to help you much...

Here's a link to the one I purchased on Ebay, but since it's closed, I'm guessing all this link will provide you with is info about which amphipod I purchased: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270604804370

I'm not sure about that radio shack unit....but I'm doubtful. Luckily I don't feel the need to answer a call....email.....or even change song track while running. This morning I was able to raise volume easily while running by pushing the EVO through the SPIbelt....I could easily feel the buttons. I am supposed to get that new water resistant larger belt today....ill update once received.

I recvd the new larger waterproof SPIbelt today. Perfect for carrying the EVO while running. Love love love it. Very discreet, no bouncing, and I can't even tell that I am wearing it. The best.

@kitarkus Do you happen to know what the model/part number is on the larger waterproof SPIbelt?

There is no part number and it is not online yet. Email SPIbelt (Kevin) and tell him you want the 'new larger waterproof' version. You can also mention me...."Jason in Kansas' He will know what you mean. I love this thing for running.
