Age old question. You get a phone with nice materials, you mock the plastic ones, it looks cool, it looks nice... and you slap a cover on top of it. A plastic cover.

With the leather back of this phone, would you be using a case as well? Would you go for the transparent one? Or go commando, knowing that leather is not only easy to scratch, but easy to peel?

I wonder...

I favour clear plastic bumper cases at the moment. Good grip, some protection, and the good looks of the phone aren't completely hidden.
But that might look a bit odd on a leather back....😕

I would never cover that leather,so we will need some enterprising people to create a bumper or something g4 specific...because that leather will be naked

A bumper case perhaps, then. I also wonder, do the dimensions of the phone change with the leather back VS normal one? Will all cases fit all G4's or will the leather make it thicker?

I would consider if the Leather Back wasn't replaceable. Since it is...HELL NO!!!!!

Hopefully care will prolong the life of the leather - if not the case I'd but a new back if it came to that.

I can't see a case on the leather. Too much of a sexy beast!!!

You're becoming a legend around here. I'm serious. I thought I was into cell phones.......

whether that's good or bad can be debated.

Yeah, the leather looks good, but I can't go naked. I NEED the "bulk" of a case. Without a case, it's like a crack-head with aids. No protection, and skinny.

I wouldn't get a leather back. But if I did, I would get a case, maybe a clear one so you can at least see it

I always go commando with my phones so no case for me. The leather back on the G4 looks and feels great and I'm looking forward to it becoming more "weathered"

I usually don't use cases with my phones, and that holds even more true for one that has leather. Defeats the point of having one with nice materials if you ask me.

So, has the T-Mo one arrived yet??!!

Here in Korea you cannot buy a case that fits the G4 with leather back. All the cases they sell say "will not fit leather G4"and it's true. They won't. I tried today. Couldn't find one to fit the two leather backs I bought for my metallic plastic backed G4.

Mmmm... that's a nice thing to know! I kinda expected that since the leather back actually seems more of a case on itself (like a clip add-on thing), so it makes sense that 'normal' cases wouldn't fit it (just like with the Note 4's Wireless Charging back). I wonder how many won't see that warning and complain that their cases won't fit :P

So I'm thinking that if you're going for the leather, a glass screen protector is the way to go. There are a couple of threads started in this forum about that.

But still, the bezels are exposed. And that's where the phone tends to land haha I can do screen films, but I'm not a fan of tempered glass. Yeah, I appreciate the extra protection, but they're just too bulky for my taste.

This thread is an oxymoron. Why would anyone get a case and a leather back just to cover it up?
