Cases

Received the Blurex case I ordered. It's an amazon prime item if that matters to you. The case is solidly built, no chemical odor, no logo stamp or embossing on the case, and the device is held firmly by the six claws/grabbers. All buttons or ports are easily accessible via the cutouts.

Seems identical to the Moko slimcase, probably all sourced from same manufacturer.

Amazon.com : Blurex Ultra-Slim Case for New Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen Tabet Black -- With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep Feature : Computers & Accessories

In landscape orientation, the case works well. I'm not particularly fond of it in portrait orientation. The back doesn't fold over flush, although I think I'm missing an elastic band to 'hold' the case back in place. Shrug.

For the price, I'm not going to complain. I think I will end up looking either a Portenzo case or maybe something along the lines of a Gumdrop type open face case.

I just got my SUPCASE from Brillotech, it's the premium leather one for $19.99 and I love it. Great fit and feel. Magnet makes it go to sleep. It's awesome:

Good to know. Hopefully the pleather one I ordered will be of the same fit and finish.

I do find it shocking that the Official case has all these errors?! Have people been receiving the knock off versions, or are the ones direct from Amazon.com at fault too? I see they are selling them now...

Also, as alternatives, I know there are several Poetic or Moko cases, all varying slightly, has anyone used this one?

I am waiting in the UK for a decent case!!

I received my Moko Slim case the other day and love this thing. Built better than most $40 cases and has the sleep functionality with stylus spot.

Thanks for sharing, that is such a sexy case!!!

Is the auto-wake magnet is built into the case, as opposed to being attached on the inside cover, thus causing possible scratching of the Nexus screen, like many other cases from Moko, Poetic, and others?

It is built into the case with the small latch that secures the front over the top. The latch is the material as the rest of the case and when you put the cover over the front (not even closing/latching it over the side), it puts it into sleep mode. Pretty awesome! And remember that ours (or at least mine) is the Slim, NOT the Ultra slim that folds into thirds for the front.

Just come across this video for the Poetic Slimline:
Actually looks amazing, I would say looks more OEM than the Moko Slim Multi-Angle I just bought...
Anybody had both??

?12.95 in UK, only available in black at the moment, from the same seller as in across the Pond...

I have both, and I agree with the video, the Poetic is much better. I can't believe they are so inexpensive...

I have had enough of searching and wasting my time ... so.... I have ordered exactly the same as you, TitaniumSS ... carbon fibre blue Moko
Thanks! ?20 - POUNDS STERLING, so more expensive over here, but I am sure it will be worth it. Should get it tomorrow...

I received the Moko Slim Multi-Angle, carbon fibre blue which I lovely.

Pro's:
* good protection
* lovely looking case
* hand strap for holding
* case doesn't cover the bezel
* a variety of viewing angles
* very sturdy when opened up to view on uneven surfaces

Con's:
* doubles the thickness of the Nexus
* speakers holes are half covered, as the design is a series of holes in the cover as opposed to a large cut-out, however when testing, no real difference was found in the audio, checking for muffled sound etc

Overall:
A lovely case, with more pro's than con's. I showed the wife the video of the Poetic Slimline, and she felt the extra padding would offer more protection on the Moko. Yes, it's her tablet (bought for her birthday!). Good choice, thanks all.

I ended up returning this one: Amazon.com: i-Blason The New Nexus 7 2 FHD (2nd Generation) Auto Wake / Sleep [Slim Book] Stand Case Cover (Elastic Hand Strap, Multi-Angle, Card Holder, Three Year Warranty) 16GB 32GB (Orange): Computers & Accessories Every time I tried to use the stand, the N7 would flop forward or backward. It made me nervous that I'd have it sitting to close to the edge of a table or desk, and it would fall off as it fell over. The spine of the case that is the "stand" is just too flimsy. I wouldn't recommend this case at all.

I returned it and ordered Amazon.com : i-Blason Google The New Nexus 7 2 FHD (2nd Generation) Slim Folio Auto Wake / Sleep Shell Stand case Cover with Elastic Hand Strap, Stylus Loop & Bonus Stylus (3 Year Warranty)-Black : Electronics I had this case on my 2012 N7 and really liked it. I just got this one today, and already like it so much better than the other. Both are from the same manufacturer. This one was only $9.99 (I got it in black).

When is Devicewear going to come out with one? It has the best 'stand' options for the 2012 N7, because the flap is attached in the middle of the back cover, and there is a ridge in the molding of the back cover that fits into the front cover 'channels' that prevents it from popping out when you bump it.

Just got an email from Poetic concerning my Poetic Slimline Case. They addressed 3 issues some customers were having and stated that they are releasing an improved version and sending me one free of charge. Shipping estimate: Sept. 20th.

Talk about some awesome customer service

Devicewear "The Ridge" cases are on their site now. Just ordered one. Hoping it is as good quality as it was for the first generation Nexus 7.

Received my portenzo hard case this past Saturday. About 2 weeks after ordering so pretty good! I like that it is light weight and it seems very well made. I feel like I'm carrying around a little notebook which I guess is the intent so it's pretty cool. I like the feel of it in my hand while holding it to play games or ready or just browse apps, etc. The one thing I'm not that impressed with is the stand part of it. It seems very stiff right now. Maybe it will loosen up over time. For the hardback kind I ordered, it actually has adhesive that the nexus actually just sticks to it. I was skeptical but, so far it seems to hold just find...not issues at all. It's a smart case so when closing it, the screen cuts off and when opening, the screen cuts on...no issues at all with this. Overall, I like it and I'm pleased with it. Much better than the i-Biason one that I had before this one. Here's some pics....enjoy!

Does this allow you to use the Nexus in portrait mode while the case in landscape? I'm curious as to whether to go with something like that or with a rotating case. Has anyone tried a rotating case yet?
