Cases

I like mine as well so I shot their customer service an email. Got a quick response saying they would release a case like the one for the first generation sometime the end of August.

Just got this today

http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Google-N...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU3001417

Its a moko case.
-sleep/wake works well.
-Speakers aren't muffled at all. Nice cutouts for them.
-Nice cutouts for all buttons and ports.
-The flip cover is a bit flimsy.
-The case itself is a little weak holding onto the tablet but its not falling out so that's good.
-using the cover as a stand works. Not the sturdiest stand but since the tablet is small and light it makes no difference.
-using the tablet with the cover flipped behind it feels kind of awkward.
-Its just a cheap case for now and my expectations weren't very high so it'll do for now.

Just received my Moko Ultra Slim in black. Very nice looking, no smell, at all, smart wake works great. Wireless charging works well with case on on my Tylt Vu.

Only problem, and it's a big one to me, although the right two corners hold the N7 well, the left two, barely do. Upper left is a little better than lower left.

Have a poetic coming soon (hopefully) and an S-Line gel tpu case should be arriving tomorrow or Monday. Think the tpu is gonna be my main case.

Totally agree about the left corners. They aren't raised like the right corners are so they don't hold as well.

I just received my Moko Slim-fit in black, for the 99cent price I paid, plus shipping, I'm pleased enough.

Does have a bit of the fake leather smell, not too bad, should fade with use. Fits snugly, which I'm glad of, the Moko for my Nook HD+ seems a bit loose. No problem here, fit seems perfect and closure also secure.

The case adds a little bulk, but also feels like it could protect the device passably well.

One very annoying CON:

Sleep/wake function works, closing puts the device to sleep fast, but opening the cover takes nearly 30 seconds to wake it! That's really slow, so slow that at first I thought it wasn't working! The Speck FitFolio case I bought hubby last year for his 1st gen Nexus 7 woke it instantly upon opening.

If it hadn't been so cheap, I'd have probably returned on the wake issue, but I'm just happy to finally have a case. The hand strap will be really handy, especially for reading.

If anyone else bought one, are you having the slow wake issue? I ordered the carbon blue at the same time, hasn't shipped yet, wondering if I should cancel and just keep waiting for the Speck version to come out.

EDIT: Oddly, though I tried the sleep/wake several times before writing the above, just now I closed the case and opening it woke the device instantly. Guess I'll use it for a bit and report back.

One thing I did notice, there are 7 holes for the top speaker, four for the bottom. Sound is still good, perhaps a tiny bit muffled compared to being out of the case.

I received my Duzign Imperial Case with Stand Function (Black) today. I'm very happy with it. Here are my initial thoughts. If anything changes over time, I'll post again:

- It looks and feels somewhat like leather, but it's not leather. Certainly nice enough to look good. It reminds me of a Moleskine writing notebook.
- It has a slight chemical smell, nothing too bad, but hopefully that will dissipate.
- Build quality is very good, with even stitching and nothing out of place.
- The way the tablet is secured is via a wraparound flap with a strong piece of velcro. You slide the tablet in towards the right, and then wrap the flap around over the left edge. There's no instructions and it might take some people a bit of time to figure it out. But it's very secure and is much better than those little, stretchy fabric loops that hold a tablet in place by the corners.
- Port access is excellent . There's a large cutout for the power switch and both volume buttons. The camera has a large hole and is unobstructed.
- The speakers have cutouts with no grille. Strangely, the cutouts for the "top" speakers are larger than for the "bottom" speakers. I tested the sound quality with music, and between the bare tablet and the tablet inside the case, there was *perhaps* a very, very slight degradation in sound quality, but really nothing of note. And it could have been in my mind - it's that slight.
- The magnetic on/off function works perfectly, and there is no problem with the tablet shutting off when the front is wrapped around flat against the back.
- Holding the tablet with the cover wrapped around took a bit of trying various grips, just because it's different from holding it bare. The front flap, when wrapped around, actually protrudes 1/2 inch beyond the far edge. Whatever the reason for this (perhaps to stop the magnet from shutting off the tablet?), there are still several good ways to hold it.
- The landscape stand function works.
- The case adds some bulk. I've been nervous walking around with the bare tablet and now I'm not, so for me the extra size is fine.
- I do notice the extra weight of having the case on it when holding the tablet one-handed. It's not quite as comfortable, so that's the trade-off for the protection.
- Overall I'd say this is a home run and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a folio-style case. :)

It's $20. (I paid $22 delivered, because I live in California and Amazon collects sales tax.) Link to Amazon:

Were you opening the case all the way when doing so? Because the last panel on the left side of the cover is the one that wakes/sleeps it. Otherwise, I'm having no problems with that feature.

Edit: just realized I have the other moko case, not sure if that's the same way it works with your case.

I just received my Moko Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case today:

Amazon.com : MoKo Google New Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen Case - Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case for Google Nexus 2 7.0 Inch 2013 Generation Android 4.3 Tablet, ORANGE (With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep Feature) : Computers & Accessories

I was surprised to see the front case is just a very thin leather strip that cannot possibly protect my Nexus from a drop or anything similar but dust and scrathes on screen. Also, the magnet on the cover side can easily scratches your device screen if no screen protector was on it. I was expecting they would put an leather cover over it; guess not to save money. I patched the problem with a small scotch tape over it. I immediately wanted to return it to get the Poetic slimlime version since it looked much more bulkier on the front. But after some thoughts I might as well just keep it and avoid the hassle of returning it since I originally just got it for $0.99 + 5shipping before the price went up. I personally would not use it outdoor as I be putting my device at risk of damage. I have my i-blason case that can take with me anywhere except I wanted a case that I can fold it back for one hand usage... guess that no longer the case for now.

On another thought, if you just wanted a case to cover it from dust or scratches... the case is very compact and slim when comparing it to the i-blason case i bought.

Yes opening all the way. My front cover is one solid panel. So far it is still variable, sometimes working instantly, sometimes not.

Liking the hand strap though!

My Poetic Slimline case just shipped earlier today. Got an email with the tracking info and everything. :)

poetic assured me that the slime line does not have the problem with the magnet when cover is folded back like the strapback has.

my slimline should be shipping sometime this week.

Yea the fake leather dye or material smells abit....i hung mine outside for 2 days to get it to almost go away....its tollerable now but not as bad as some other chemical smells from a few other cases out of you know where.

That said....I am comparing this new Moko SlimFIT case to the old Bluerex case of the same design I had on my old N7. There are several brands using this type of design with slight manufacturing differences in stitching, materials, and such. This Moko case uses the same wide hand strap on the back like the Bluerex, but others have a slimmer/narrower strap that I did not like the looks of. This was the first one I could find on amazon at the time, as I could not find the Bluerex one which is what I was looking for because I had good experience with it on my 1st gen N7.

The Moko case come off as being slightly stiffer/stronger than the Bluerex I had. This is good...seeminly more protection and the new N7 fits tighter in it as well. My only con with the old Bluerex one I had got pretty soft and flimsy while trying to keep it in the landscape stand up grooves. I used it everyday and put it through its paces for about a full year and it stood up well otherwise. I think this Moko one will be just as good if not slightly better. Cut outs on the Moko are perfect and no problems at all.

My Amazon accessories for the N7 2013:
1. Moko SlimFit $5.97 shipped. (total steal).
2. Spigen UC screen savor $12.99 shipped.
3. Poetic GraphGrip rubber wrap cover (for playing games and other minor uses) $2.95 shipped by end of month.
4. GTMax car charger (1A and 2A outlets) with separate retractable cord $8.93 shipped

TOTAL = $30.84.......what some will pay for a cheap case at a big box store!

I have the Moko one as well as the Blurex version. They both wake the tablet right away (maybe .5 second delay)

Have not had any issues with sleep/wake at all.

Does anyone have any problems with the metal clasp on the moko scratching the screen? I don't want to order a case if its just going to screw up my beautiful nexus

If you're referring to this one: Amazon.com : MoKo Google New Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen Case - Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case for Google Nexus 2 7.0 Inch 2013 Generation Android 4.3 Tablet, ORANGE (With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep Feature) : Computers & Accessories
then yes, it will likey scratch your screen without an screen protector on it. Or you can like me, applied a piece of scotch tape over it so it won't damage your screen.

Corning only publishes hardness in vickers scale, but it is probably around 5.5-6 on mohs. Regarding the metal clasp, most common metals will be under that so it likely won't scratch (I don't know exactly which metal they use for that piece, hence the probably)

On the other hand get a piece of sand in your backpack and it will scratch quite easily.

I got the moko Ultra Slim on Friday, and I don't think that the metal on the lid will scratch the glass since the case part that locks on to the N7 is raised above the N7 glass on the right side. I was worried about this when I ordered it, but am not worried now that I have it.

On a separate note, I'm not thrilled with the case because although it locks on to the N7 well on the right side, it doesn't lock well on the left side. Nice case except for this "issue".

I may contact the seller, see what they say. Still have the erratic wake issue. Otherwise like the case.

Is it possible the issue is with your tablet?

Perhaps you could bring the case into a store and ask to try it with their demo or borrow a unit from a friend to test.
