My stream of consciousness answer on my own faves.
The newest is a Tudia arch TPU case. Dark grey, Great feel. Nice looking. The silicone/TPU type cases have always been my favorites on any of my phones historically. This one was ten bucks on Amazon. Can't beat it. Diztronic makes an excellent case of this same type, as well. They don't make S7E cases though, apparently (they do have S7).
For a more protective hybrid style case, I've found the Obliq cases I got from Amazon are really nice. Seem pretty sturdy, look sharp, and they don't add a ton of bulk for the protection. I have satin silver and space gray. I also have the Otterbox Symmetry in red. It was expensive and a little slick.
I like leather. I would love a great leather case. I've yet to find one that makes me happy. I don't like the clip on the back of your phone type cases. That's why something like the Pierre Cardin or the OEM Samsung leather cases don't do it for me (although I have a couple of the Pierre Cardins). I'd dig a case that really fit around the phone like any other case, but made of leather. I've had better luck with leather wallet style cases, but I don't care for that type (yes I have one anyway and use it from time to time).
And I wouldn't have ever expected to like a wood case, but I took a shot on Carved cases and they are fantastic. The TPU grip around the edges is about the best I think I've used on any phone...great grip! The wood on the back is beautiful. I just have plain wood grains, but they have some with art on them, too. Highly recommended for something different. When I first checked them out they were (I think) about $45/each. Now they're $25.
