Casting to TV

I was used to expanding the notification bar ( which I haven't figured out how to do on Nougat) and choosing to cast to my TV.
How do I do that now? I have a movie on Google Play, and I want to see it on my TV not phone.

Are you using a Chromecast? If so, try the Home app from the Play Store.

I don't have a Chromecast. do I need one? It's a Roku TV if that makes a difference.
