My friend said he left his cell phone in his car while at work and now he found it dead.

The car was hot but he said he left it under some papers.

He has 2 batteries and neither will power it up.

Any suggestions?

Buy new batteries? :p lol but seriously you should check on the batteries, in my case of battery overheating the shape of it changed from flat surface to this kinda bubbly thing, like the inside has explode or something (sorry for blurry description btw). When that's the case, usually i have dead batteries in my hand. In any case, it might just be the inside of your phone has melt or something.

Could be the display died.

The phone could be powewring up, just not showing anything on the display.

A phone inside a car left in the sun can get hot enough to damage the integrated circuits in the phone. Covering it with papers just impeded air flow, making the phone get hotter.

I suspect that the phone and Abe Lincoln have something in common now - neither one can be resurrected any more.

Yes it's a Motorola Triumph.

I would think it has to be completely dead. He has two batteries here that neither one of them will charge.

It doesn't even get a charge light when i have it plugged in, and it won't power up in any way shape or form plugged in with either battery....and it doesn't even get warm at all.

Were both batteries in the car? If you look where the battery goes, are there any signs of physical damage?

You could always pop into your carrier's store and ask them to try and put a battery in that they know is good, that way you can at least narrow it down being a battery issue.

If you do that, I wouldn't tell them any more than they need to know. Just say it wont turn on. Let them decide if it's covered under warranty (if the phone is even still within the warranty period). If not, time to cash in insurance, or, get a new phone somehow.
