Hi there,

I have like a bazillion photos on DropBox. I'm starting to use Google Drive and would like to get the pics over there. I have only a hotspot for internet so that's not feasible option.

When using a photo stick do the photos wind up ON the stick so I could plug it into my computer, get DropBox all organized and then plug it into my phone or ??? to get them to GDrive? That sounds too easy.

Thanks,
Deb

Are all these photos stored in Dropbox only, or do you have local files on your PC's hard drive? If the photos aren't stored locally, you will still need to use the hotspot to download them to your PC's hard drive from Dropbox. In that case, the USB flash drive would be unnecessary, as you could just upload the files from the folders on the PC to Google Drive. The flash drive would not serve a purpose there.

I mean a photo stick which to my knowledge is a USB/thumb drive but organizes your photos by date and/or other categories I hope. I have not purchased one nor ever had experience with one but organization would be wonderful.

EXCELLENT link, thank you!

I'm not sure about the photo stick file organization. Do you have a brand/model in mind? If so, I can look into the documentation for it and see how it works.

You can export them directly from Dropbox to Google photos, but there is a limit to how much you can send at a time so it might take you a little while. If you open Dropbox and go to the files tab then hit that square with a checkmark in it in the top right it will make the photos selectable. You can try select all by hitting the square again and see if you can send them all at once but I doubt it. But once they are selected hit the 3 dot menu In the top right and then hit export. That will bring up a list of applications you can export to. Choose Google photos. If export is greyed out then that means you have too many photos selected and will have to select them one by one. And export multiple times. I wound wait for wifi or data to do that though because you will run out of your hotspot data fairly quick most likely once you go to upload them to Google photos.
