Is any one else getting bad reception? I feel like it's worse than it was with my Note 8. I changed my APN settings so hopefully this corrects the issue.

What country are you in, and what carrier?

I haven't had any problems with optus in Sydney.

Curious, what did you change in your apn settings 🤔

Not a lot I just changed where it says ivp6 to ivp4/ivp6. I went and got a new SIM card today to see if that helps stay connected to the network. I'm in the states and it's T-mobile

I have horrible reception. My dB is running between - 110 and - 118. I tried two different sim cards and hard reset. Same results. I switched back to my Note 8 and db's running around - 90 to
-94. Much better signal with my Note 8. Note 9 unlocked on T-mobile and being returned tomorrow. Return recommended by Samsung support and T-mobile. Could just be a random, defective device.

My signal strength is around 85. I can never remember if the lower the number the better it is, or the higher, lol.

-50 is around full signal where as - 120 is basically a dead zone,, if I remember correctly.

I'm also on T-Mobile in the US, and I'm reading -84 to -89 dBm at my office. Previous phones read much weaker than that... usually near -100.

I have the Note 9 (SM-N9600). I did notice a drop in signal strength from my previous phone the Samsung S5. My signal strength is -102 dBm which is about 2/4 bars. Will swap the SIM to see if its at fault. Hope the Note9 is not defective

No. In fact I'm quite happy with the reception. This Note 9 maintains a call in a weak signal area, where only Motorola phones have maintained the connection.

Switzerland, Swisscom - absolutely lousy reception. In areas where I get full bars on the pixel 3 XL, the Note 9 barely manages to hold on to the 4G signal
