CF Auto Root and Galaxy S7 SM0-G930F probems

[AC Question]

I have tried to root my Galaxy S7 SM-G930F using CF Autoroot. The Odin log seems to show that all is well but the phone will go no father than the two opening screes. Full details below:

Procedure and Odin Logs

1. Odin 3.0 started OK in Administrative Mode
2. Phone set into Download Mode (warning screen) and then Vol-up key pressed to enter the Download Mode
3. Phone connected to laptop running Odin and blue windows in ID ROM field signifies that the phone is recognised and connected. Log shows added.
4. Pressing Options shows that AutoReboot and F.Rest Time are selected.
5. Box next to AP selected and then AP is selected.
6. A browser window appears, file CF-Auto-Root-herolte-heroltexx-smg930f.tar.md5 selected and opened.
7. Log Shows

8. Start key pressed.

The phone restarts and shows 2 screens.
Screen 1: Samsung Galaxy S7 and below Android
Screen 2: Samsung (pulsing in brightness)

The phone will now only respond to a power-off using "Vol-down + Home + Power". It can be restarted using the "Power key", "Vol-down + Home + Power" (Download Mode) or "Vol-up + Home + Power" (Recovery Mode).

It consumes a lot of battery and gets much warmer than usual.

View recovery logs (blue font)
Run graphics test (blue font)

At the top left hand corner
Odin Mode (Red font)
Download speed fast (Red font)
Product name: SM-G930F (White font)
Current Binary: Custom (White font)
System Status: Custom (White font)
Secured Download : Enabled (Blue font)
Warranty: Void (Brown font)
RP SWREV: B:1 S:0 K:0 (Brown font)

Further down it shows
Large Down Arrow
Downloading
Do not turn off target

As I am very new to rooting it may be that I'm missing something extremely simple or it may be that i've made a complete ****-up.

Please can you help me?

1. Did you check CF Autoroot to make sure that it says it will work on your model S7 (the F model with the D7 ROM)?

2. The only thing you can do right now is reflash the stock ROM. You can find the ROM image at https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930F/ You can find the full procedure for flashing it at [Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN.

Also read the https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3369431 thread. (You can use any country's ROM, but change the CSC or HOME_CSC [the first wipes your data] to one you extracted from a ROM for our lamguage.)

And use Odin 3.12. (If you can find the PrinceComsy version, it bypasses the SHA256 check, so modified ROMS will pass.)
