Hi Guys,
Just bought the missus a nexus 7 tablet, only had a little while to play with the settings. Is it just a matter of dragging and dropping apps into the dock at the bottom of the screen?

yup! Just long-press the icon until you can move it, and then feel free to position wherever you'd like.

Keep in mind that when using the stock launcher (the interface you see when looking at and flipping through home screens), you can only place a maximum of the six shortcuts and/or folders in the dock. So if you put a new shortcut in the dock, you'll need to remove an old one. Or you can combine it with an old one, thereby creating a folder.

If you want more shortcuts in the dock, or a dock that rotates through multiple screens independently of the main home screens, try an alternate launcher that gives you all sorts of customization options. Nova, Go, and Apex launchers are examples that are very popular. I use Nova, but would assume that other launchers provide the dock customization I described above.

I use ADW Launcher which also allows you to customize the dock. I've customized it so that there is no dock at all and I love how it looks that way.
