Hi guys.I`ve got an Samsung S5+ with a odd problem, maybe for me.I cannot do OTA update because some root i think. The guy that i took the phone, he said that there is no root. But yet again i cannot check for update because of an error.Device status is custom. So i think that is rooted. So the system is from Singapore i think.Software 4.4.4.And i would like to update it to Lollipop and to keep it stock.Baseband is : G901FXXU1ANH5 . Any ways to change it, update it to Lollipop and then unroot it back? It`s for my girlfriend and i want to make her kinda happy and not to miss her S4.

Could you post your exact, "Version", details as per #1.8 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide, for your Galaxy S5 Plus.

You will also need to install Phone INFO ★Samsung★, free from the Play Store, to locate your Product code and post it.

Install Root Checker, free from the Play Store, to check your root status.

N.B. Your Baseband is merely the version of radio/modem installed and does not always match the firmware details, as described in the first link.

Thanks.I will talk to her and take her phone for a quick check. So i might update to lollipop without rooting it too badly right?

It could be manually updated with the relevant, (model, CSC and Product codes), Lollipop firmware without the need for rooting.

"The Operating system on your device been modified in unauthorised way. try downloading software updates using Samsung Kies on your Pc or visit a customer service center".This is the message I receive when i try to update.

No root as well but Device status is Custom.

AP: G901FXXU1ANH5
CP: G901FXXU1ANH5
CSC: G901FEVR1ANH5

So what can i do now?

Rooted phones do not receive OTA or Kies updates, see link below.

You can download and flash the stock Samsung firmware for the G901F carrier branded model for EE in the United Kingdom, by downloading the firmware below and flashing it to the phone by following the instructions and video contained in the links of #1.11 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

Model SM-G901F
Model name GALAXY S5 Plus
Country United Kingdom (EE)
Version Android 5.0.2
Changelist 4470174
Build date Tue, 31 Mar 2015 11:42:06 +0000
Product code EVR
PDA G901FXXU1BOD1
CSC G901FEVR1BOD2

Flashing the stock firmware will un-root the phone and allow it to receive future updates. Alternatively, you can re-root and update manually in future.

You are a life saver.I`m gonna reflash it to stock firmware and get back with an impression.

LE.Smart Switch detects a 5.0 update.Should i do it?

I did it through Smart Switch. It works now i have 5.0.2 Lollipop and I gave him a hard reset.
