change default action in contact in a folder of People app

One of the contacts in a folder of my People app has gone to text as a default action. I do not want any default action, because I text and call this person about equally. I tried to change the default within the folder, but it would not change. So, I thought, I'll have to change the default in the main screen of the People app. I went to that screen, and found that this contact has to call as the default I tried to change it, but it would not change. I read the Inspire manual, which seemed to be saying that my second method, going directly to the contact on the screen of the People app, had been correct. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

When you go to view the contact, scroll down to the bottom. In the Options you should see Set Default Action below Edit Contact.

Nope, Edit Contact is the last of the list of three options, after Ringtone and Block Caller. But thanks for your response.

It makes a difference where the contact info is located from. If you are using contacts directly from the sim card, the options are limited. You may want to play around with the source of your contacts (phone, sim, Google, HTC Sense) to see what works best for you.
