Change Default Calendar

I posted this in another thread, but I'm not sure it will be answered there. So, I apologize for excessively posting.

Does anyone know if we can change the default calendar from the phone calendar to another calendar, say a Gmail calendar, for example? It's annoying to have to make the change at every entry. Lazy. I know. But, the phone calendar doesn't synch with gmail, so I have no other backup in case of crash.

So far I haven't found any options to change this default ~ certainly annoying.

I disabled the phone calendar and it still defaltsto it. Petty annoying.

I am a new Droid Bionic owner and I agree that this is a huge pain. Seems like there would be a simple fix...
