Change DPI scaling to condensed (or modify DPI to anything you want)

Re: Change DPI scaling to condensed

Does this do anything to improve quality? Cause I'm old and if all it does is make things smaller then its just going to make me squint more!

Also, does removing the app automatically change DPI back to default?

this will make things seem sharper due to them being smaller and will allow more content on the screen at once, but things will be smaller, if you have poor eyesight, it might not be good, but being that it is so easy to change it back, it's worth trying out.

the "app" is part of the OS, the activity setting that the method has you create is just a link to the setting. so removing it will no revert the changes.

What part of Samsung Pay isn't working? I haven't tried it in a store since changing the DPI. but I can see the bar at the bottom of the home screen and can swipe up to open Samsung Pay.

the only part that i have read about not working in samsung pay is the onboarding / initial setup process, i read the initial video and setup doesn't scale properly so you can't get past it. other than that adding / using cards works fine.

Re: Change DPI scaling to condensed

For me this broke Android Pay in a Galaxy S7 edge, I had to undo. Samsung Pay was ok.

Re: Change DPI scaling to condensed

Clearly all of you are under 50! Last night I posted a thread asking if there was a way to make the status bar (clock, 4G, BT, etc) BIGGER! It's smaller than it is on my S5 :(

Re: Change DPI scaling to condensed

Agreed the status bar icons are far too small. I am used to the status bar of the Note 2

Re: Change DPI scaling to condensed

I don't know if I trust myself enough to do this. My computer/techo skills aren't what they used to be :( This looks like the same directions for making the dpi smaller. So you can go either way with it?
Yes you can make it smaller or larger to any size with that method.
