Change MIN?

Hi All,
I was originally rooted and on a "modified" status on my gs3. I went back to stock via odin on the Team US Cellular Website. I updated my phone to 4.3 OTA after thinking things were good, as I saw my own phone number and a local number for MIN along with the same PRL another phone has in our household.

For some reason, my phone number as well as the MIN are the same 000-000-4111 and 0000004111 along with a PRL version of 1. Data works fine, but I am in a Searching for Service status. Under the phone status, Network says "Searching for Service" and I am not roaming (turned off Roaming so I didn't see the fake 3 bars...

Anything that can be done here? SIM is still in phone too.

Very strange.
Even though your phone number is the same as the MIN, you can still receive phone calls?

Have you tried removing the SIM card and reinserting it?

Is your IMEI still intact (the same as it was before - look under the battery to confirm)?

GSDer, thanks for the reply. I couldn't do anything with calls. I could receive data however. Really strange.

I tried removing the SIM and nothing.

Now I'm in a very very sticky situation (one that I think perhaps "bricked" my phone). I changed the radio to something other than the MD4 that was on the stock 4.3 profile. I ended up trying to flash the ROM again and now I am stuck at the "Welcome" screen with 0 bars. Stuck at "attempting to connect".

I have another android with SD card capabilities and tried to put another ROM on the SD card in downloads. Swapped the SD card and put it in my phone. Went into recovery, tried to flash, and the ROM isn't showing up... I'm wondering if I need to Re-Root. Is this possible via Odin? After Re-Rooting, can I get the ROM on via Odin again? Unsure if I can do it through the recovery. I see KNOX is on my phone, I'm hoping that it didn't cripple it.

I was so frustrated with this phone that I ended up upgrading my phone on another line that I have through USC. I have the Moto X but my roommate has an antiquated phone. Would be nice if I could upgrade them to my old phone.

That makes sense, since the phone number was bogus. I imagine (just a guess on my part) that you could still get data because the authentication for that comes from the SIM.

This is the stock Recovery? Unless it's a valid update.zip I don't think you can use the stock Recovery to flash anything. You may be able to find that on XDA.

I don't know if there's a pre-rooted ROM for your model but it's relatively easy to root 4.3 once you have it working.

You didn't mention if the IMEI was correct?

What model is your phone, and what firmware did you flash to take it back to stock (a link please)?

You should be able to get the stock radios back on there with the stock firmware.

Thanks for your help, answers below. I can try to post this on TUSC as well and ask for their input. Thought I'd ask on here as there is more exposure and I wouldn't think that over 300 people would read the thread so far.

The last update.zip I flashed was from teamuscellular. I cannot recall which thread I got it from, but it was from an "Unroot" thread on their website for my phone. I then used stock MD4 files found here: Stock Files - TeamUSCellular

Model of my phone is R530U, the retail version what US Cellular sold up through 10/13. See above for what I flashed it back to stock. I made a backup, but after I flashed it was gone.

Still not on there... Wondering if there's a way to root, reflash, and start fresh. The phone is quite crippled, but can still go into download mode. I try and reflash a ROM via Odin and it fails, I'm wondering if that is because I am not rooted. (I have not done this much in rooting since I had an LG Optimus V 3 years ago)

Hi GSD. Thanks for following up on this. I ended up flashing to the latest firmware that was stock yesterday (mja). I then ran adb and did reboot nvrestore. I believe my recovery was buggy as it stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S3 logo.

Flashed mja again. Rebooted. Got signal. Hooray! Called USCC to activate a line. It made a call did a text and was able to browse 4g. We're good now.
