I am a little confused at the moment. I am going on a European Cruise in September and researching in advance to ensure I avoid unexpected and expensive Roaming Charges on my Samsung Galaxy S23 mobile phone running Android 14.
My confusion arises as to the need whether or not, as well as disabling Data Roaming in the main settings, should I also switch off mobile data in the Quick Settings.
The reason I ask is because I am from the UK and my network provider, Lebara operating on the Vodafone Network, permits my packager to be used in a number of countries including the EU so I can use my phone in the EU at the same cost as at home but I just need to confirm the following
1 If I disable Data Roaming in the main settings but leave the Mobile Data enabled in the Quick Settings will this prevent my phone from connecting to any Network, especially the Marine Network, but still permit me to connect to any Lebara/Vodafone Mobile Network when in range?
2 If I am incorrect in my thinking in 1 above, is there anyone who would be able to let me know the appropriate information please.
I will of course be contacting my service provider for their advioce as well. Thanks.
