Yes. There's a method called chainfire auto root but it's only for Tmobile and Sprint

I have the Note 4 on Verizon and have the same complaint.

I use Nova Launcher which solves the problem. Now my notification bar is black with white lettering. Problem Solved!

I think OP was talking about the settings menu background. Aren't all notifications dark background with white lettering?

Wait for kitkat update and you'll be able to change it from developer settings

Hey! I installed the Nova Launcher to get rid of the horrible white background but the new Note 4 OS theme with white background is still on everywhere! Only if I use the Nova settings which is in the top right corner, the background is black! Please help!!!!!

I haven't heard the latest on a full dark theme emerging. I don't have a Samsung any more and it's not really as bad on my Moto G.

You could start a thread / question in the Ask Any Question or General Help and How To forums.
Someone will have better insight.

It's got to the point where Android M is not far from release, afaik.

I use to have the S3 and LOVED it. Left iphone for it.
Now we upgraded to Note 4's on vzn. Had it 4 days now.
HATE how Samsung changed the default bacground color of the settings menu, text conversation list and other menus to white. All other samsung devices have always been black with white text.
Please Please Please tell me there is a easy way to change this back to black with white text. It bothers me so much I want to trade it in for and S5.
I took the phone to bestbuy and they worked on it for an hour and nobody could figure it out. They said the only was was to root. I really dont want to do that. Is there an app that can do this? Or is there another way the bb missed?
