Change Pic SIZE (not resolution) in Pixel 3A?

I've lowered the resolution on my Pixel 3A pix, but they're coming out in the neighborhood of 25" tall! I can resize them in another program, but why would I want to have to do that? Surely the setting is in there somewhere, but Android 10 moved things around and I can't find it. Can someone here please tell me what I'm missing?

Where are you trying to display the pic?

It's not about displaying, it's about file size. I don't need for them to be saved larger than 8x10 tops. Anything larger and I have to resize them in another program, just trying to skip a step.

If you cut the actual image down to that size, then you wouldn't be able to upsize it back again (in case you needed more detail, like if you wanted to crop it). Since you have a 3a and get unlimited High Quality backups in Google Photos, are you taking advantage of that unlimited cloud backup? You can use the Free Up Space feature in Google Photos, which automatically deletes any of the local photo files that it knows are already backed up in the cloud.
