When I send an MMS picture message it compresses it right down and it looks awful (all blocky) .. Is there any way I can adjust the quality of the file it sends?

If you keep the original image down to the smaller of the two carriers' limitation (yours and the person you're sending it to) it doesn't get compressed. Verizon is 1.2MB, AT&T is 600KB and Sprint and TMobile are about 1MB.

Anything larger, put the picture up on a picture sharing site or cloud account and email the recipient a link. With a 5GB account, for instance, you can send a 5GB picture with no change (since all you're sending is a few bytes of test for the link). And that's enough to make about an 8 foot by 10 foot (not inches - feet) print of decent quality.

This is a common complaint, OP. There really shouldn't be this kind of limitation on a flagship smartphone with this type of camera. Sending an outside link to someone via text rather than a full quality photo is bunk, really. It's one of the very few things I miss about my iPhone/iMessage since coming over.

I notice with the new Google Messenger App the pics are not super compressed. I been using that and all my pics and screen shots look a lot better.

I have the same issue, mine is so bad Best Buy is switching my phone with a replacement when the next shipment arrives. I have discovered that using the app Textra helps dramatically.

I have also noticed zooming into pictures in the gallery are quite blurry as well. For all the great reviews about the camera, I am not impressed.
