Change what app a widget opens?

Does anyone know how to edit a widget so it opens a different app? I downloaded a transparent clock widget, and while I like it, clicking on it will open the clock app. That wouldn't be a problem, except I use a different alarm clock than the stock one. I'd prefer it open the one I use, but I don't know how to change it. Long-pressing and then choosing "edit" doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yea I use Simi clock widget or fancy widgets. They both do what I think you are talking about.

I know that I use mClock and it has the ability to launch a specific app when I click it. But it really depends if the widget supports that setting.
