Hello all,

Brand new S7. Installed MySMS, set it as the default messaging app and then changed the notification sound. Texts come through and it's using MySMS like it should but for some reason it still uses the default notification sound no matter what I select as the messages notification.

Am I missing something? Thanks for the help!

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using a custom notification tone, or one of the preinstalled ones? If it's custom, is it saved on a microSD card, or in Internal Storage (in the Notifications directory)?

Try opening the default messaging app, hold the back button for settings and change it there to the one you want. Might be linked to your other app

Hi I actually have this same issue with Twitter.. I have notifications turned on for Twitter but it only uses the default sound on the phone. It really sucks...I wish someone would fix this....

Same question for you--are you trying to use a custom sound, and if so, is it saved to the microSD card instead of Internal Storage?

Hi
I have tried sounds that came with the phone as well as Mp3 shows that I downloaded. All of which are stored on internal storage. It's very frustrating.
