Changes to Google search update

I've updated the app and it no longer searches my phone for apps. I've now removed the update, can anybody help?

Have you tried clearing the cache? I've had no issues with the new update. It still opens up apps

I have the same problem. I cleared the cache but still will not search for apps. In settings, the apps function is greyed. I can select a check mark but no results.
