Changing back without losing update?

Anyway to change way phone worked before the update I cannot stand the way it functions now, navigating through using apps etc... I dont want to lose any updates in speed or software but I sincerely hate how everything has changed in terms of the appearance and use of most if not all things on my note 9

only way to go back Oreo is to flash back using Odin.

If you flash Oreo, it's going to update to Pie eventually anyway, unless you root and freeze the update app.

Oreo may get a couple of Security Updates for those who choose not to Upgrade but it WON'T last very long, for sure!

What does Wi-Fi have to do with it? A phone connected to towers will update without Wi-Fi.

There's an option in Package Disabler Pro to turn off OTA updates. Wouldn't that work?

That depends on the carrier. I've had it happen on Verizon before.

Mine does. All of my phones were able to download OTA, I'm on metered wifi so I prefer to download via cellular. Even when set for auto update.

Let me rephrase. 1.4 GB updates shouldn't download. Most carriers block them and require wifi to download.

Unless they zero count the download so it doesn't count against a data plan.

It's not the quantity of data that matters, it's the amount of network resources being used.

Not on AT&T. I rely on cellular over wifi and I have wished that my phone could do that for years

I feel your pain. The destruction of the recents and split screen feature bugs me so much I want my money back. Support would not help me uninstall the pie downgrade.

Because they can't. They are required to make sure you get security updates, which you won't if you downgrade.
