Changing between a Google contact and a phone contact

I recently noticed on my s3, that when I store a phone number, it saves it as a Google contact instead of a phone contact. How can I change the numbers that are all ready stored as a google contact over to a phone contact so they show up in my contacts list?

Welcome to Android Central! Google contacts should still show up in your Contacts app. Open your Contacts app, tap Menu>Contacts to Display, and make sure you've selected your Google contacts. It is always safer to associate your contacts with your Google account, rather than the local Phone account, because the former will sync automatically to the cloud, while the latter will sync nowhere. If something happens to the phone, then you lose all of those contacts.
