Hi
Had loads of problems charging my note 10.1 2014. Red cross on charger icon amongst other problems. Started by buying a charger port kit which appears to have cured the problem. It works fine when i plug it into the motherboard and charge it.
Having problems doing a permanent fit. Cant find any videos with help how to fit it. There is a plastic rim over the port which appears to go all the way round the edge and i am having difficulty in removing it to disconnect the faulty port.
Any ideas or video links?
Geoff

If you watch one of the battery replacement videos or the display cable reseat videos you'll see that the silver plastic rim and the textured back cover come off as one piece. Using a pry tool (or a guitar pick) work your way around the edge of the glass and GENTLY work the back assembly off the main unit.

Cheers hallux. I will put the back cover back on and try and take it off in one piece. Thanks again for your help.

New charger port fitted. Bleeding red cross back on the charge icon. Was charging fine when just connected to the motherboard.
Update; took front off again redid connections to be sure and back charging again. See what tomorrow brings. Update showing as charging but charge not increasing... ordered new battery

Update... New battery fitted took ages to charge to 100%. Put charger back in later - red charging cross back. Tried different chargers still same. Will see if what happens when it needs re charging.
