Changing default email when using Favorite People

I have some contacts set up as favorites on my home screen. When I click on a favorite and choose to email them from that, it emails them from my gmail account. Is there any way to change what email I am sending from? I NEVER use my gmail account and want to send from my other primary email that is set up. When I use the mail app, it will send from the correct account, but want to be able to use my favorites.

Menu> Settings> Applications >Manage applications >Gmail >Clear defaults.
