changing from S7 to G5 (at least for a bit)

Just curious if anyone has had both phones and what the pros cons are and if it's a worthy switch. I am coming from an ATT S7 and bought a G5 unlocked in new condition from Swappa. Is touchwiz equivalent or worse than LG UI? Is the battery life enough for a full day with the G5? Does it feel cheap? These are some complaints I've heard. I'm going to give it two weeks and then see which one I keep and which gets sold. Thanks!

I made the change as well and have been very happy with my choice. With the exception of the waterproofing and wireless charging I think just the g5 is a better phone. My battery life was slightly better on the g5 and the camera is a little nicer. I also like the larger screen. Now this is just my opinion and many will disagree with it but I have been very happy with the switch.

I didn't switch but did look at the S7 and a few others.... Love this phone.

So glad to hear your battery life has been better. I just sold my S7 Edge on Verizon too and ordered me one of these :)

I have both currently. I'm going to sell the S7 Edge next week. I've had it with that lag.

My G5 gets delivered this afternoon and I can't wait.

Things I'll miss about my s7edge - great battery, edge apps, home button and capacitive hardware keys, waterproofing.
Things I won't miss - uncomfortable to hold, way too fragile (cracked the screen edge and smashed the camera glass by dropping from a foot high), always on display only showing calls and texts, the ugly front cam beauty mode that can't be fully turned off.

Things I'm really looking forward to from the Lg g5 - better feel in the hand, full featured Always on Display and Knock On (Double Tap to Wake) which were 2 of my favourite features on Nokia Lumia, cameras and the wide angled cam in particular.

I did the exact same thing. I sold my Edge after I got the G5. While Edge did some things better. Camera was faster for me and screen was better. I could not deal with how fragile it was and it stuttered from time to time. I've been using G5 for almost a week now and I love it. Battery lasts all day without any issues. Only thing I miss is a slightly better camera, screen and wireless charging. All the things I can live without. I do not miss the waiting for apps to close at times or stutter at all. I wish LG had something like Samsung Pay using MST. That, I do miss the most of all the things, but like you said, it fits in the hand perfect and feels way better than Edge.
