Changing gmail account on 2.2?

I want to delete my current gmail account that I set the phone up with and switch to a new one. Is this possible and does anyone know how.

The only way I know of is to do a factory reset, and start over.

There are so many things tied to your google account, including any paid apps you have you need to start out from a just like new phone.

Be aware you will need to find and download all of your apps, and set them up again. You may loose your paid apps.
