I have Google maps v 10.23.4 on a Samsung Galaxy S9, Android Version 9. Somehow in Google Maps the default voice was changed to UK. If I go into Settings, Navigation Settings, voice selection and set it to US English then it doesn't say the street names. I tried to delete maps and reinstall it, but I can't see anyway to delete the app. Anyone know how to get that default voice back to US English voice? Although I was playing around with the voices a while ago, this problem just showed up when using Android auto after the latest system update. It does the same thing when I don't use Android auto, so. I'm not sure if it is something I did or the update. Thanks,

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

On my Google Maps, in the Voice Selection menu, it says "Default (English) - Speaks street names", while other selections don't speak street names. Does it say "Default "English UK" on yours?

No. It just says Default English, but it speaks with a UK accent. The default google language is US English and the default language on the phone is US language.

You're not using a VPN, right?

I'm on 10.23.5, so check to see if you have any updates right now.

Also, I'm on the beta, so you could try enrolling in the beta program to see if that changes anything.

Another thing to try would be to clear the app cache/data in Settings>Apps for Google Maps.
