Anyone know a workaround to be able to set your own S-View background instead of the color options you're given? Would be nice to use my wallpaper there instead of the lame colors/patterns.

S-view? Do you mean the S-notes?

No, the background when using the official S-View case.

EUREKA! I found it!!! I knew I'd seen it somewhere! You'd think it would be with the wallpaper settings but it isn't!!! Go to your settings/General/Accessory/S view window color! You can also select info shown cover. Pretty slick stuff, but why they buried it there is beyond me!

I just got the Note 3 S View Flip Cover today and I like the idea of a custom wallpaper. I imagine Samsung may implement this ability unless a 3rd party developer creates an app for it. I would assume that if you rooted your Note 3 which is strictly your choice if and when done right you may be able to gain access to the folder if there is one where the stock images are located and add new ones too it.

Let me work on it and I'll see if I can put an app together.

S flip cover is missing really important configurations according to me..

*You cannot select someone to call from the view window. You have to open the cover to select someone from the contact list!
*you cannot add your own picture/wallpaper as a background
*if you take notes in the window and if the phone keylock activates, this note is saved and closes. You cannot reselect it to open and edit the current note or add new notes
*you can only answer and reject cals, meaning you have to open the big cover to do anything else than these..
* i hope samsung takes time to develop this side of the phone soon.

Just received mine 10 mins ago. Sweet cover. Mine is set to red

THE BEAST,,NOTE 3. SIZE IS EVERYTHING!!!

Extract the framework-res.apk of your custom rom, open with winrar v5, change or replace with your mainbg_pattern_mainarea.png on directory : res/drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi .
On note 3, copy on your sdcard, and with root explorer replace this on system/Framework (reboot is automatic when you change the .apk) enjoy!

Found on xda page!

Ok Did It and It Does Work. But How About Changing The Colors. I Would Just Assume Have Standard Black Like The S4 Does. Or Getting Rid Of the Color All Together to Use Actual Images Instead of Tinted Ones or Custom Patterns? Could you Also Post link To XDA Page That You Found This On?

Yes I would love to know how to do this…….anybody figure it out?

You can do it by going to Settings > General > Accessories > S-View Background Wallpaper.

Download the QuickShortcutmaker app.

Copied from the website:

1. Launch the QuickShortcutmaker app, and switch from Incremental search to Normal search and search for Settings or you can scroll down the list until you find Settings Icon.

2. Select the setting icon from the list
3. This should present you with a nested list of other options, you need to scroll down the list past the Power Saving option to find the S-View (SViewCover2014) option as shown below.

4. Select the one SViewColor2014 (annotated ), this would bring you to this page below.
5. You can tap on the Try pane to see what this shortcut does, if you did get the right one.
6. At this point you can tap on the back button to get back to the pane shown in step 4 to save the shortcut to your homescreen.

7. After saving the shortcut (or not), you should open the new shortcut from the homescreen and select the photo with plus icon shown below.
8. This should take you to the Gallery where you can pick a custom wallpaper of your choice.
9. After selecting a custom wallpaper, you can crop the image to your preference and then tap on save to set it as your S-View Wallpaper.
